The tides of fate had turned and this implausible endeavor has left Lord Dunmore physically weak and mentally defeated. He wandered through increasingly familiar surroundings aimlessly and ashamed; desperately staving off the increasingly inevitable and crushing finale.

It is too hard to tell what went wrong but uncertainty festered and mutated and grew. Lord Dunmore could no longer outrun it. He was finished for keeps this time.

The demon appears from the shadows, as demons do, grinning joyously and silently at yet another humbled speculator. There are cracks in his armor and Lord Dunmore is fading but he remains steadfast and true to his mission. He thinks of his Deity and remembers her fire. A strange and brilliant burning energy that aligns with his own. The Deity saved him before. She has fueled him for the last many years of his quest. He rises, takes a deep breath and his focus sharpens. The Deity has given him the light and that energy charges him now and forever as Lord Dunmore battles the demon fear.
